“At Writtle University College we have been users of Quintic Biomechanics for several years for animal biomechanics. We use Quintic with our undergraduate students (Equine Sports Therapy, Animal Therapy and Veterinary Physiotherapy) and postgraduate students (Master in Veterinary Physiotherapy) in practical lessons, assignments and dissertations. Having recently upgraded our system to the latest version of the Quintic software, animal gait analysis can now be performed simply and quickly. We have been using Quintic Biomechanics for gait analysis in horses, dogs, cows and sheep. The students find the software quite user friendly and useful. And they like the fact that they can use their smartphones to collect the videos to be analysed by Quintic. Quintic is an excellent tool for education enabling the students to understand the concepts of animal biomechanics. The use of reflective markers allows automatic tracking of key anatomical landmarks, providing accurate data on lameness detection and gait changes.”
